A whining noise...
My 1984 300SD makes a whining noise, its comming from the rear of the car, i change my rear diff oil and that did not make any diffrence, what do you guys think.

I no married yet, the sound gets higher in pitch as i speeds up, and its really loud at 40mph, drive axle??, rear diff???, driveshaft?? i dont wish to spend a lot of $$$ and still not slove the problem...

Rear axles, bearings or brakes. Do you have clicking when backing up?
