tranny question 87tdt

On my 87 tdt trannny 722317 02 803261 theres a yellow plug with a cable inside,i was taking trany down o seal it when i believe that cable may have snapped,anyway i dont know what its for or even called.1st i broke off a small yellow tab on it then i think it snapped or maybe it just retreats into the tranny???
Any help??

Bowden maybe??

is that the bowden cable perhaps?? Maybe an east coast tech can help you.

The cable by the dipstick tube is the bowden cable. The cable sticking out on the driver side is the speedo cable. Wires by the tail housing are for the kickdown solenoid.
