Bilsteins Bilsteins Bilsteins!!!

I <3 my new Bilsteins! I don't know what I just took off my '81 300TD but I know they were crap and worn out and not BILSTEINs. I just installed some Comforts and with just a short and hard test drive I feel like i have a new car. Don't settle for anything less.

If OEM they were prob Sachs or Fuchs; both good. Hope the bili's last half as long.

Try new sway bar links next.

I'm not sure about the '81

later 80s used Bogue for a while. But either way I agree, Bilstein is the way to go.

I don't think they were either, in any case, the top washer was put on upside down on both sides.

I'm going to do the spheres next

I have them on my SDL and the 300sel, I much prefer them over the comforts I have on the 560. Just a better handling auto.

Don't HD's make them stiffer? IMHO the W126 rides to stiff over minor bumps. Bumps that my friends S320 with 18in wheels (with 35 sidewalls) will make disapeer, my SDL with nice thick sidewall tires makes you notice.

I love them, but I'm really not a fan of how they ride.

Yeah, slightly firmer. But the road handling is vastly improved.

I balked at them at first due to all the comments on here, bought them... can't say enough good things about the HD! I am on stock 205/65R15s.
