We have a variety of pics. Got into the mid -upper 90s today and most of the work was in direct sun. A real scorcher after 4. We all had a bit of sunstroke. My buddy joined at 2am and 2 of the other drivers showed up around 11-12.

We got one engine out and on the stand and another mostly out. I dont see how anyone gets em out with the transmission on.

Good Job.

Did you try raising the rear of the car way high up in the air? That's how you can clear the radiator support if that is the problem.

I just cut the support out on my wagon but I put the engine alone into the 240D and put the tranny on after the engine was bolted in.

We're going to be doing this in a few weeks with our SD.....it should be interesting.....we're doing with the trans on for both removal and installation.

Its a 126 though, so a little bit of extra room.

Actually I had to raise the front end of the car so that the rear part of the tranny would clear the ground and firewall. Wasn't a big problem. Just had to drop it before I lifted them over the radiator support.

The trick to getting the engine and transmission out and in is to raise the butt of the car up and use a load leveler.
