Tallest final drive Ratio for a W124???

Hey Guys,
What's the tallest final drive I can bolt on easily for a W124 chassis? I have a friend that installed a Nissan diesel and trans in an 89 300E. (3.07:1) The original diff on the Nissan was approximately 4:1. Any suggestions?
