rainwater filling passenger side floorboards

Hello, I have a 77 300d and within the last few months I have noticed that when it rains a lot of water pools up on the floorboard behind the passenger seat. This occurs while driving in rain and also when the car is out over in the rain. I have made no modifications. Some seems to be coming through a seal located where the passenger would rest their feet, and also just to the right of that on the kickpanel. I have seen water dripping down the kickpanel but have no idea where it comes from, the door seals are intact, not sure what else to look at.
At least 16 ozs or more will leak in during a rainstorm while the car is parked.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

The rear seat foot well is the low spot where water collects if there is any leak in the passenger compartment. You may have a leaky sunroof, windshield seal, rust hole under the battery, rust hole or plugged drain in the hood hinge pockets, or a rust hole or plugged drain in the air intake grilles.

pop the hood, pull out your battery and pull the tray out as well. look for a hole.
if it's clear there, look in the spring pockets of the hood, clean out all the leaves and gunk, and make sure the drain is clear and look for a hole.
also, don't overlook the sunroof, if the drains are plugged up, you can get some water down the sill.
and last but not least is the windshield itself. inspect the seal around it, and if you see cracks, it's a pretty sure bet that is where your water is coming from.
DO NOT SEAL IT WITH SILICONE. unless of course you want to send the car to the crusher, silicone reacts with the metal and will cause it to rust out very badly.

Are there separate tests for windshield leak and the battery hole. I have cleaned out the drain under the hood spring, it was clogged. But I have yet to pull the battery. When I pour a hose on the windshield, how can I tell if the leak is from the windshield or related to the battery hole (if I have one) or some other drain (under cowl grill)?
