I watched as mine was replaced recently. Since you already have the moulding off, you have actually done the hardest part. The seal is cut with a special tool using a curved blade (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200334173_200334173 ) and it needs to be installed with an adhesive such as 3M 8564 Autoglass Urethane Windshield Adhesive.

I called Safelite (Google PPG auto Glass and Safelite comes up here) and my new windshield will be $263. and change plus tax, but includes labor with a 55% discount. I'm not about the even try to remove mine and replace it myself.....I have broken enough windshields and back glass in my time. Just wish I could find a Sekurit windshield though.

That is the main reason I don't replace the windshield on my 380SE, that and it still has the Spanish National Road decal on it. I'll use it until I can't see through it.

Go to pick and pull with a carpet knife and a bunch of extra blades. If you can find a piano wire it will make it a lot easier. Plan on a couple hours to get it out for your first one.

I would use a used one if I found a nice one.

on junkyard glass what is glued in-
I use a hood release cable from a nearby GM car- they are stainless and have a nice handle on one end. it is a 2 man job. one in, one out. use the wire as a saw. fishing the wire thru is the hardest part.

or get a glass knife from mcparts.

I had mine replaced w/ PPG glass after I tried to fit a 10' piece of pvc inside.:o cost my insurance co $220. cost me $0. lifetime warranty on install-leaks, etc.

I would not bother with a used windshield when you can get quality glass installed that cheap. having a windshield that is not sandblasted is well worth it.

You ought to be able to obtain another decal easily enough.

has anyone replaced their windshield with one from safelite? Any comments? I really thought class was glass (some may resist chips better though) but i didnt realize clouding etc would be an issue. Safeltie is thew way to go. Lifetime install warranty.

Here is a representation of the sticker. Most is gone, but the remains are:
The sticker is outlined(rectangle) in black and the roman numerals boxed by black lines. (red dots and black dots are for spacing only and not on decal). Background is yellow and printing is colors shown.

Also this car came with the a Spanish(?) National road assistance pouch with the owners manual and another sticker not put on the windshield and a business card. I have figured out that this is an agency like trippl A or such.

Business card reads: Asistencia en viaje Nombre
Matricula on the left side of the card stacked top to bottom, first two words in cariciture of a valise. Next a stylized umbrella(?) Then Mapfre(blue background), automoviles in an oval. Below this is the words EN BREVE RECIBIRA over EN SU DOMICILIO LA over TARJETA PLATA.
back of the card reads (left half) Nacional over 900*11 18 18 over Extranjero 341*581 18 18 over MAPFRE COMPANIA INTERNACIONAL DE over 0SEGUROS Y REASEGUROS S.A. over Claudio Coello, 123-6*28006 Madrid

all that on 3/4 of the card and this on the rest.

I bet you offer to translate again huh?

For those who don't know. My 380SE was exported to Spain for 3-4 years then re-imported back to CA. in 1996

I'm glad it worked for you but I would not recommend that.

For some reason I read somewhere that the W126 windshields actually can be heated up through some electric leads hidden behind the interior window trim. They're supposed to just pull right off once it's warm enough. I don't remember where I read that, but I have this project to do also.
