Clunky on Driver's side rear
does this sound like a suspension component or a CV joint. I will say that some bushings are warn in the suspension so I need to get that straight also.
when i have some weight in the rear, either people or something in the trunk, the driverside rear sounds like someone is hitting the inside of the fender with a rubber mallet, you can even kinda feel it, that could be psychosematic though. it starts as soon as I start moving and the faster I go the faster it gets, but also gets quieter as I get up to speed, and at around 70 it goes away. It happens both under load as well as while coasting. Thanks for any input. Jeff |
Speed related and rhythmic, I would say the axle.

I would also guess the axle shaft.
But you might also take a look at the sway bar links. They make noises going over bumps which doesn't sound like you description, but they are easy to check on. Pull one off and if the boot is missing or the pivot joint is wobbly then you need new ones. |
