turning IP down
I know it's not a good idea to turn the IP up to much but what about turning it down to get a little better mileage?

If you really want that, just adjust your linkage so that you don't get full movement on the IP (so it doesn't hit the stop)

Yep, turn down the pressure on the accelrator.
That is the best adjustment you can make, as well as make sure all the filters are clean, tire presure is good, alignment is good, and no dragging brakes. |
As the others said the only improvement in mileage is your foot. If turn down the ip but don't change your driving style you'll find yourself pressing the trottle pedal more, which will negate downtuning the ip.

The point is that turning down the IP is turning down the max/limit, it will have no affect on the fuel mixture/efficiency during driving other than to lessen the maximum flow/speed/power. Your foot can do the same, or limit the throttle travel, put a board under the pedal if you want an easy way.

They are all right. Just put a block of wood under the pedal or adjust the linkage.
