Trying to locate a manual (W126)
I saw some other threads here when I searched regarding manuals, I'm actually trying to get a W126* (edit: thanks PaulC for clarifying) repair manual of some sort for my vehicle on short notice, as I have a friend coming tomorrow to help me work on it.
I noticed that some members might have a manual or two stored in digital format and was wondering if anyone would be willing to send one over to me? Or at least point me to a torrent file or usenet location. I plan on buying a hard copy either way, and was also wondering what is a good manual to get. Some people say Chilton is no good and Haynes is acceptable, others won't use anything other than MB manuals. I don't want to invest too much money at this stage because I'm still deciding if I'm going to keep the car depending on exactly how much work it needs done to it (will find out tomorrow!) Anyway, any help/info appreciated. |
Anyone ?

I have a Chilton and a Haynes manual and while they are better than nothing the money is better spent on a Factory Manual CD. People keep saying that you can get the Factory Manual CDs at the Mercedes Classic center for somewhere in the $20 + postage range. There is a post or thread that has the internet address.
Oddly the Haynes (123) manual has a lot if information on rebuilding manual transmissions. I do not know why they thought that this was more important than some of the other things that they neglected to put in the manual. Here is an online manual site; However, the 126 and 124 sections appear to work but do not have any information in them. The 123 site is the most complete so if something on a 123 matches with what you are doing at least you will have some information to work with. http://www.pauldrayton.com/uploadfiles/merc/Service/Library.html |
