"must do" tasks for a new-to-you 240D

Hello,

Can anyone give me a rundown of the "must do" tasks for a 240D w123 car?

I have all the receipts, valve adjustments have been done, etc. Im familiar with w123 300D and w210 300D cars, Im not a newbie to MB diesels, just not on here a lot recently (since my nice 83 got ruined in 2004), and not terribly familiar with the 240D engine.

From first glances, it seems that obviously there are a lot of similarities, but also a lot more space and some different doodads around. My thoughts are along the lines of the linkages for the throttle, which Ive read wear and cause you to not get full power, etc. But is much of any of this differet from an OM617?

Any suggestions besides the obvious???

Thanks!!!

JMH

It's really very similar to the W123 300D, no real differences, just a little simpler. Regarding the linkage, have someone push the pedal to the floor and verify the IP linkage goes all the way to the stop. Mine wasn't quite giving me full "throttle" when I bought it, obviously you need everything you can get.

Keep your oil checked often until you get a gauge on usage.....
