Time for my 500K Badge
I hit 311K miles at Ft. Casey WA today. Too bad I could not get a 21 gun solute with those huge cannons in the background

He's right:
http://www.mbusa.com/media/downloads/main/heritage/High_Mileage_Application.pdf The form says you need 312K

The form is wrong: http://www.metric-conversions.org/length/kilometers-to-miles.htm
Also 2x 155,000 for the 250K badge is 310,000

Yep, somebody at MB was not doing their math right that day.
250k = 155,342m 500k = 310,685m 750k = 466,028m 1mk = 621,371m Honestly, you are close enough. You have to get the miles verified at an MB dealer anyways so fill everything out, take it to the dealer, point out MB's math error and if the people at the dealership have any sense of making the customer happy they will sign it for you. It wouldn't hurt if we all send MB a note pointing out their error. |

For my last badge the guy didn't even come out to check my mileage. In my experience at most MB dealerships they don't care about the "classics"

I believe my first one took about 6 weeks and the paperwork says to allow 4 weeks to process the paperwork then they ship it UPS.
My second badge came in about 3 1/2 weeks...I don't know why. From the High Mileage download: Color, italics, and bold by me. High Mileage Award Application Thank you! Your loyalty and support of Mercedes-Benz is highly appreciated. In order to receive your commemorative award and radiator emblem complete the entire form, have it signed by your dealer representative and return it to the address below. Please allow 4 weeks to process your application. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship to a P.O. Box. US residents only.

They ship by FedEx Ground, I believe. Either way, you have to have an adult sign for it. No way around that. I ended up having to have them hold it at the shop so I could come by and pick it up.

Get 'em while they're hot!
Quote:
Apparently most Benz owners are either old farts who don't know/care about the high-milage program or yuppies who are years away from 250K km and probably don't keep cars long enough to qualify anyway. My '85 didn't have its 250K badge when I got it; my '96 had it but the badge had never been installed on the grille. I had a call from the service manager last week . . . he needed my help to find the form on the MB web site . . . . . . not one of their big service items, I guess. We need to encourage all qualified owners to get on the stick and order the appropriate badges before Mercedes gets tired of it and drops the program. Jeremy
