Brake Calipers
I know this has been done before but are there any pictures on this forum showing the difference between ATE and Bendix calipers?
Thanks, Tracy |

The physical difference? or how to tell them apart?

The ATE calipers will have flat, spring steel anti-rattle clips and the pins will be of the friction fit variety. Bendix will have wire anti-rattle clips and the pins will be secured with hitch pins.

the ate's say ate on them, the bendix ones say bendix, letters cast into the metal on both. sometimes its hard to see it on the ate's but its hard to miss on the bendix

They are completely interchangible. I like the ates better but would not pay extra for them....at least not much.

If you are replacing calipers I *highly* recommend getting SD calipers and rotors.

In some cases, the bores sizes are significantly different, so it is essential that both calipers on a given axle be of the same brand.
