1987 300TD Wagon, Will a 1982 5Cyl fit in?
I have a good engine from Charlotte and I'm looking for a rust free body to put the power train into. I found a 1987 300TD wagon. I know these came with a 6 cylinder, but if I have the tranny and all powertrain parts, will it fit in? Bolt up to the engine mounts?
Anyone done this? The interior is mint and just some minor body damage on front. Engine and Transmission are already gone.

Just look for a 603, the car will thank you.

Physically yes it will fit, However you might need engine mounts, and to design a custom throttle.
It has been done, but no one on this board has done it yet. the rest of the swap is pretty straight forward, If this is your first engine swap or you are considering having a mechanic do it, stop now..
