TD road trip

Heading from Denver to the Apostle Islands in Wisconsin tomorrow morning. New accumulators and functional AC should make the trip comfortable.

Love pics of TD's doing something like hauling cargo! What happened to your grass? Still going through a drought out there?

Wow ... I'm jealous Kerry ... about the trip AND your working AC.

Have a great time, make sure to take your camera! There are some cool formations there.

Camping gear. I use the barrels to waterproof my gear for canoeing and rafting trips. They work well on roof racks for the same purpose.

Great Idea, do you just float the barrel behind?

I tie them down either inside the canoe or raft. Great flotation too in whitewater. The big one in front is a 30 gallon. There's a 60 liter one behind it. I also use 30 liter ones.

Do your roof rack cross bars clamp on to the existing luggage rack bars on the roof or to the gutter? I've got cross bars that clamp on to the roof bars but all I've put up there are some skis and snowboards, I'm a little leary of putting a canoe on there, I wasn't sure how string the factory roof bars were.

They're gutter racks. (Yakima) I've carried as many as three canoes on it.

Three canoes on a TD...SWEET
Guess I'll have to get some gutter towers if I want to carry more than the snowboards.

While I was waiting for my daughter's friend this morning just before we left, I drove down to McDonalds to get some breakfast. When I got back, as I walked towards the house, I glanced back at the car. I saw a pool of oily liquid under the left rear. Turns out the banjo fitting on the accumulator I replaced last week, chose this time to start leaking. I ended up replacing both the copper crush washers on the banjo fitting and the leak stopped. Set back our departure time by about two hours. I'm east of Omaha tonight and its held all day.

Cool trip. And the song, I sang it last friday night at the local watering hole/karoke bar("Friday nights at the "49er Bar an Grill", Acton, CA).
