I friend called about a 1988 SDL for sale. I do not know anything about that model and could use some advice before I look at it. Is there anything I should be aware of? Are they nice cars? What would it be worth with 185,000 miles?

Aside from the fact the there were no SDL's made in 1988, I say go for it.

300SDL was 86-87, 350SDL was 90-91.

Grab a beer and search 300SDL, actualy grab a 6 pack because their is a lot of reading.:D

OK, Thanks. He did say on the phone he did not know what it was worth because he could not find any info on an 88. I will have to look at it.

I thought there were a VERY small number of 88s made?

First thing I would do is to get the VIN.

Nope, just very small numbers in 86 and 87.:D
