Question heat from the floor??? 84 300td wagon w123

i've noticed that the drivers side is much warmer in my car than the passenger side. i have heat on my legs and feet all the time. if i ride with a window and or the sun roof open i can feel the hot air flowing up my chest. the back of my steering wheel will get warm to the touch.

seems to be coming mostly from the left side of the car.

i've never seen anything under there that would produce that much heat.

i did notice that all the panels were well insulated but i figured that that was for sound.

where is all this heat coming from?

some times on a hot sunny day the heat from the floor will al but negate the cold from the ac on the drivers side while the passengers will be cold.

any ideas?

could it be coming from the enigine compartment?

Check to see if the floorpan of car is not rusted or rsuting away. Can be getting heat from exhaust through opening in the floorboard.

I have the same problem with heat and it's coming from my floorboard.

Second possible is check make sure heat is not stuck on the driver's side.

There is a vent from the climate control system under the dash on both the driver and passenger side; I assume you have checked out the one on the driver's side and the heat is not coming from there? It is possible for a vent to be stuck open so that you get air on one side but not on the other. Before the engine warms up, do you still get heat or does it take awhile? Might there be a hole in the floor or firewall to let in air from the engine compartment?
