Burn outs are fun, but ever since I put new sticky 245's on the rear the SDL has a lot of trouble. She will still break them lose if I floor it around the corner but its snaps and its a PITA. I'll have to wait another 3 years for them to get old and kind of bald so I can spin them again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HJpPrUc92I&feature=related These cars can't really do good burn outs because they are diesel, have skinny little tires, and open rear ends. You need to put like 275's on the rear, a LSD, and a pumped 606 to really be able to roast them well. Although my friends E300D will roast them pretty good. However any MB with AMG in the name, or a V12 will roast them to the rims at any time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1p7J1QebeHc&feature=related Nothing like burning $600 in tires up in two minutes!

for the record the (on dirt) burnouts did not cause my transmission to not supply adequate fluid pressure to the torque converter. It has been a problem since I put the car together last winter

Why do you think putting wider stickier tires will help do burnouts?

Because you get more smoke, and it looks better. Its also more impressive, roasting a little 195 all season isn't that big of a deal, pretty much any car with 100hp can do that.

The amount of force doing a burnout on a dirt road puts on a transmission is probably neglible to the amount of force required to get on the freeway. The only thing I can see getting damaged is the rear brakes

Yeah the other one that you saw me driving in circles around was my old one, This one is nicer but in a different way. It has 40k more miles on it and makes abit more noise. but since its an 83 has all the nice things like the slow dimmer and such. The front pass fender has a slight crunch in it but its hard to tell without getting close. The center console some idiot put a radio too big in there and ripped the rivits out of the center so im going to have to fix that someday. All in all, it rides very nicely. You guys think what i did was bad? wait until i get my 300d ill roast some old bald tires for you guys.

compress, when navigating the site I just get a dead end when I click 300d turbodiesel. And the screen capture you have actually isn't the part im looking for. Well it is but not for the right transmission.
