95,000 Euro. Way above a Harley I'm sure. I would still love to have a Diesel engine motorcycle though. I would miss the idle vibration and clack of the diesel.

I really like the engine, but can't say the same about the rest of the bike. That huge bulge of a fuel tank for example.

HAAAAA
it would nearly double the hp of the car... aaaand probably cut 300Lbs out of the front of the car. ... kinda hard to get any heat for the cabin in the winter time... air cooled motor and all... but think of the weight savings you can have. heck, put one in a CD, and REALLY have a sporty vehicle. 112HP, -400 or so lbs of weight from the 617.952... yeah, what a screamer!

I think they changed the body since the last time I've seen it. It used to look like a nice cruiser. I still want that motor though...would make a killer custom.

Diesel motorcycle

I have seen gas to Diesel motorcycle conversions. Single cylinder YanMar Diesels are put into rolling chassis.
My ideal would be a small Diesel engine in a comfortable cruiser frame, and run on 100 WVO....keep some filters in the saddlebags, and drive across the country in the warmer lattitudes. I don't know if this would go over well with my wife however. The GPS would call out restaurants along the way. Perhaps when I retire....

Diesel Motorcycles?? Aint gonna happen in our lifetimes!

Sure they're making em: http://www.dieselmotorcycles.com/models.htm And USMC bought 440 Hayes "universal fuel" JP8 Diesel bikes according to Wikipedia...... But 100mpg vehicle is *last* thing in the world gov. corp lobbyists working hand in glove with Pentagon want released upon the general public at large.

Think on it the same as airless low-profile *neoprene* tires, good for 130k+ miles, entirely recappable and cheaper to produce than what we've got today. Nevertheless shelved indeffinitely outa fear and dread of upsetting automotive tire industry: Goodyear, Firestone and others.

100mpg diesel bikes? Yeah they've got em and were promissed for the civilian market circa 2006. Of course something that makes so much sense is LAST thing in the world the USGov will tolerate, knowing it'll bust up existing motorcycle and ATV industry already in place. My guess is under "military contract" pigs (our congressmen) in Washington DC have voted all patents be bought up, just to keep em outa the private sector and prevent em from being released.

Is it just an optical illusion, or does their photo/drawing show 2 connecting rods per piston?

With the fuel economy achieved by any gasser bike, I don't see the value of trading off quickness of performance for a Diesel. However, it is an interesting idea.

Yes, double the mass PLUS gear noise!
