Cetane ,not to get the 2 confused, is also known by its compound name which is Hexadacane ,an alkane hydrocarbon .The term Cetane also serves as a chart rating ,Hexadacane being the highest assigned number OF 100 on the Cetane chart .VO has a rating on this chart ,its range is between 40 -50 ,were diesel is 45 and biodiesel is 45-65.If gasoline ,RUG ,has no compounds that boost the Cetane number I was mis informed ,Ill look into it .A rating on the cetane chart for rug would have to be found and its not formulated for that chart like diesel fuel . Gas will run for a very short time in a diesel motor but will ruin the motor ,to say it has no Cetane value would be wrong ,just were its rating falls is unknown ,again Rug is used as an additive /thinner to ablend of this type of experimental fuel not as a 100% replacement .As far as filling up with rug in your diesel ride ,let me know how that goes.

Let me know where people are snagging up MB Diesels. You can't give them away in the SF Bay Area. TDIs go quickly because they actually get 50mpg. I'm not able to keep up with traffic and get 30mpg in a 617 or 603.

Around here diesels have all gone up a LOT in value. Ship some of your rust free cali cars out this way and you could make a mint...

I don't think you will have trouble selling it, but if it has any rust, it won't be as easy as you think. I think you will have trouble selling it and making a profit. Especially if you value your time.

Theirs more of them out their Im guessing,at least more of the old ones.If value is your objective I would stay with an 82 -85 300d turbo .For one the parts are readily available , the AC system is more economical to fix,and they get around the same mpg.Their a piece of german engineering also ,youll still be driving it when you send your kids thru college.
