Oil filters / oil

He guys , I forgot to order a filter from phil with my last order , I had to use a wix , it was a last minute kind of thing .
I have used wix in the past and they work ok , what do you guys recommend for my 300 cdt .
I had to use the lite grease trick to hold the Oring to the canister top , thats a little tricky .
I ended up using delvac 15/40 ...thats ok for the summer and it was free . I was considering running amsoil the next change since I run that in my other diesels .

Thanks

greg

Run the WIX part number through their site below and click on the Blue underlined part number and the specfications for the filter will come up in a separate window.
http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/index.asp
The WIX filter for my 300D has a 32 Nominal Micron rating which I think is very poor when compared to the 17 to 19 Micron ratings of the other companies oil filters. I think the finer filtration is better.
Do a search there is 2 very long threads concerning oil filters and their quality.

Yep, you want the finest filtration possible......I use Fram/Bosch/Baldwin filters....they all seem to be ok and well constructed.

Yes, it looks like another oil FILTER thread.....well, newbies need to be educated, too.

Did you get moved? If so, we need to hook up on something that I have in storage.
