Yep the 617 engine it sits in the same spot but the manifolds are on the Passenger side. you have to fight with the injection lines, but other than that it looks like it'll come off pretty easily.
I'll let you know this afternoon.

After struggling to remove ALDA from a 603, you go look at a 617, how easy it is, almost makes you sick. I suspect all of the 60x engines will be the same (if they are turbo -- no turbo, no ALDA -- of course).

ALDA Question/ALDAectomy!

Jumped right on the Alda this morning after work. Off in about 10 minutes or less. I had two injector lines over the ALDA and I removed the vacuum valve off the end so I would not damage it. A firm tug with the wrench and she came loose, a couple more turns with the wrench and then I could turn it with my fingers. she came right off. I left the boost line attached to the boost transfer valve and plugged the line going to the Alda.
I did discover a large vacuum leak right at the ALDA banjo bolt fitting. the line was broken underneath right at the fitting. I looked to see If I had broken it, but it looks like an old break because it was dirty on the edges of the break.

Took Freesil out on the freeway to test her out after the ALDAectomy and she likes being able to breathe. No more smoke than usual, which is very little, and I can get up to merge speed in the time I have to leave the merge lane. Tranny is shifting a lot smoother too.

I feel much better this morning. I was concerned that I had ruined her.
