still, at 120 you could buy a jack/stands kit and a few tools from the local parts place, and get down and dirty with your benz!
there is NOTHING difficult about the benz brakes on the 123 and the 126! extremely simple.
and again I ask you, WHY do you think you need rotors, calipers, and bearings repacked?
you may need nothing more than a fluid flush (accomplished with a turkey baster, and a quart of fluid) and a set of pads! (installed with a leatherman, or a nail and a screwdriver)
go for it! jack up your car and take a look.

At least give us a description of the issues you have with your brakes. lets have some fun and talk about your car!

I replaced my wheel bearings at the same time and the removal of the old races was probably the hardest task ... only because you need to be careful to not gouge out the inside of the hub. It wasn't really hard, it just required more focus than any other part of the upgrade I did. You would also need to get a race/seal driver kit ($30) and a 1/2 round drift ($8).

Well guess I made the right decision. bottom line is I saved $375.00

Good thing I dint do it myself. Turns out I received rear rotors instead of front. The mechanic cut the existing ones. I only purchased outer wheel bearings so he had to get the inner parts for me.(both sides) I didn't need the Caliper rebuild kits or he didn't use them. Turns out I already had a Caliper rebuild kit from work in the past, so now I have 3 of em. He didn't install the new brake line hoses because he thinks they are ok. He did give me an alignment and the car drives straight now. I mistakenly bought two pairs of front brakes instead of one pair.
I emailed all the parts to my Indy (Rip-off) for review. Guess he didnt look at it. Should I hold on to all these parts, return w/ restocking fee, sell on eBay or does anyone here want any of it?

One reason my Indy's price quote may have been over inflated is he spent a few hours cleaning out his garage to fit my car in it for the repairs. I told him he was out bid and he offered to do it for $475.00 That would have been a good price for all the work we originally said, less allingment. Too late I did it already, sorry!

This is a 225k, 1984 300D Turbo Diesel (2006 Greasecar) Takes time to work on cars. If I really have to do it myself I buy a DVD from DieselGiant and pretend I'm a mechanic. Sometimes it works out in my favor. I keep telling myself If I bought a Jetta i would be a lot deeper in the hole. Mbz was $1k but had to put maybe 5 thousand into it. I keep my sanity by not adding all the invoices. maybe the Jetta would have been........Slapping myself....Stop looking back, your too deep in it now. The car is family, now.
