I've got about $6k into my wagon and I don't have cross bars or a third row seat. Plus I still have to rebuild my front end and fix the AC.

RUN as fast as you can back there and buy it immediately!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, I wasn't into the burgundy color until I owned it for a bit. Now I think it's a tie between Black and Barolo Red.

EDIT: Oh yeah ... look at the mileage in my signature too.

If its everything you say it is, it'll go for more than double his asking price. Let's see some pictures.

I hope the lack of response from the OP means he went out and got it.
burgundy... mmmmm
racks AND third row! wow. this lucky, I bet it's black leather too. with the original Sheepskin covers and MB star floor pads.
wait. no, the burgundy would look best with either creme leather or burgundy leather...
I can't wait for the pics.
lets see west virginia... about 2 hours drive for me...

Well I am now the owner of this car. I got it for 4500 and yes it is pristine. I can't believe how well it looks. It is a 1985 not a 1984. I put 200 miles on it tonight. It is solid. I am trying to post a video but I don't know how. It also has the three little headrest on the backseat.....

If its only got 72,xxx miles on it, then its been sitting for a long time. Seals dry up, belts rot, tires rot, water pump will start to leak, compressors seize, etc. It could become a money pitt really fast.

I think you should sell it to me for $5000 and make a quick $500 profit before the problems start.

Just kidding with you, congrats on the find, let us see some pictures.

Congratulations!! I believe I'm past the jealousy stage and am able to be happy for you. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of my wagon's healthier cousin.

Now, you must decide what to do with it. Keep it and enjoy it, or sell it and profit. With the right ebay ad, your wagon could sell for $13,000 to $16,000. I found a pristine 1985 wagon here in Houston about a year ago - it had 54,000 miles on it.

I drove it for a few months, then realized that I was driving around a top dollar car and I didn't want to daily drive it because it was worth too much and I didn't want to garage it because it was too nice. So I sold it - ebay bidder paid $16,700. It still seems to be a record for a pristine wagon - there's one on there now that just topped at $16,100.

Yes it has all three of those things. I am going to borrow my aunts camera and take a few pics of it. It is also completely free of leaks which is also impressive. I have never had a diesel mercedes that did not have some minor oil leak. The wood is also crack free but he did glue some of them back on because they fall off.

OH, you are now the #1 Hated member on this site!
congrats! it REALLY sounds like a great car.
clean it well, have it detailed or do it yourself, keep the seals and hoses conditioned, and really enjoy the car.
we will understand if you decide to put it up on ebay, but you will NEVER find another deal like this. SUCH a find.

This is a win win situation for you and this family here at this site. You get a bargain, and if you take care of it you will not loose. If you sell, you should let everyone here know, and you will make a profit. At the stage I'm at, and the way I am, I'm way better off with a 300TD thats rough around the edges. With Twin 3 year old boys , and a 8 year old daughter, it would be nerve racking to have something so nice around. I'd say keep it and love it if you can!
