SD261 vs. SD265 injector nozzles

It's been claimed that the SD265 injectors are only for the 603 engines and that 617's should use the SD261 spec. I see no logical reason...can anyone shed some light on this?

In a word,

emissions. This is according to Monark Diesel engineering department, 265 are a newer "more improved" design.
