Ash-tray insert would solve the problem. MODULAR, GUYS!

OEM switch blockoff plates would be awesome too. Delete the crossfader, power ANT switch or rear defroster if wanted. Could be drilled for a generic toggle/rocker or used for indicator lights. Possibilities are endless with a modular design.

The thing I want most, however? DASH TRIM replacement.

If you made something like this, would it be on CNC? You could make the glovebox portion of the trim have a recess, where you can insert custom rectangular - SOLD SEPERATELY - 240D 300S/T/CD badges - AMG badge - Classy MB badge?

There are not enough nice aftermarket parts for a W123

Looks like nice work. I'd vote for a crinkle black finish...that would look close enough to a Euro console for me...I'd probably get 2-3 with only the cut-out for the shifter and window switches.

Dieselkid, you should just take orders for what the buyer would want

I think it would be cool to have one in brushed 304 stainless with the fader switch deleted, a mercedes tri star cut out towards the back so I can put a backlight on it, as well as the cup holders

If you have a computer driven cutter, you should be able to add any combination of switch choices (even custom) and sell the items unfinished with a short delivery time. If you are doing this on manual equipment, it would be expensive time wise. I'd suggest a two piece design for the most options.

rockets ships

I can make a rocket ship, so custom ones aren't a problem.
If anyone is seriously interested email me with exactly what you want and I'll price it accordingly.

I can't see the picture in the first post...is it really gone or just my computer acting up?
I'd be interested in one...maybe for the 240D as well (w115), may have to get you some measurements.

Wow, I was just imagining a little things with holes that went behind the shifter...I was wondering what all the talk was about buttons and switches. I'd like on in black...crinkle black or however it can be done.
When I get home I'll measure the sizes of my VO switches and gauge and maybe you can see if they can fit up there on the side of the shifter or something...that way I can put the ash tray back in.
I'll email you later with some details.

yep

yep,
I just need a 126 test vehicle. I'm making all this stuff for the 123 because I love, drive, and own one.
