What have you named your car & why.

I named mine Pamela, after Pamela Anderson. It looks great from twenty feet away, but once you get really close you can see the wrinkles, cracks, and sun damage. On the good side, much like Ms. Anderson once it has been warmed up properly it performs like a champ

Alex, because that's the name of the guy I was supposed to sell it to 24k miles ago.
Butterball because someone told me it looked like a stick of butter.

Talking

I haven't named my 82 300D yet. I'm still trying to come up with something unique and appropriate. I do have a 1966 Triumph TR4a IRS that I have had since 1977. It's called: F'ugly ... I'm not going to explain...

No names: I call them "the diesel", "the convertible", "the AMG sedan", "the suburban".

So far this is the first car I haven't named. Nothing I've thought of so far seems to fit, so I call it "the wagon". My son calls it "the red car" and he calls our Acura "the black car".

I believe I read that you call your car Otto before, but I thought it was a diesel vs. otto cycle joke.

I do not normally name vehicles, normally.....

But I got this car right after a friend of mine bought an 86 560 SEL. He did name his car, called it pompeii since the PO was a smoker and ash was everywhere. I told him he should have called it Vesuvius. Well when I go my car the name stuck since we all know Vesuvius buried Pompeii.

The 300SD is "Mine"
The 300D is "Hers"

Why? because I'm lazy.....but every now and then I call mine Betsy....for reasons I no longer understand.

300SD: My beater car, the pick n pull car, grey car, sonderklasse diesel, the 126, sd, the s class tank

300D: the nice car, the mint car, the good car, the blue car, the 123, the d, d, tank

also I tend to think of the 300d as a female and the 300sd as a male.

123 seems more feminine to me (has better lines)

whereas the 126 is more square and with the mean looking headlights

We call ours "Tank," hence my screen name here. We have named all of our cars. Our previous car was a 2000 Ford Escort XZ2 which we named "Speck" because it was small (just like PeeWee Herman's little dog in PeeWee's Big Adventure) and could be parked just about anywhere (on the downside it was always hard to find in the parking lots because it hid behind all of the giant SUVs).

We hadn't initially planned to call the '95 E300D "Tank," it was just what we were calling it until we could think of something better (because in comparison to our previous car it was a tank); however, after about 2 weeks, "Tank" had stuck.
