will these Euro lights fit my W123?
I got these Euro head lights in a trade. They supposedly came off a 123 wagon. When placed in front of my 83 300D lights, they don't look like they'll fit. Am I missing some parts?
They have these numbers on them: Heller 1EJ 003 050-12 & 1EJ 003 050-17 http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...071808_003.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...071808_004.jpg |
they're for the 123. They'll fit with the appropriate hardware.

They definitely fit, and in my opinion, look awesome. You'll need the euro size clips, looks like they have them but I can't tell for sure. The US code clips don't work at all.

When you remove the US spec ones, search on this forum, there is a wire/pinout guide. I do recommend getting the 6 pin plug when you can. Also, you may need to get some longer SS metric screws and fender washers to get the front part to screw down. Also, you will need to relocate two clips on each side, closer to the radiator. You will see what I me when you test fit the Euros, but no clips for the screws to line up.
I removed the wire and pin from the side lamps that controlled the "parking lamp" so that I could use the "City Light" feature. Also, you can get replacement OEM Bosch lenses from Euro Parts direct. I had to twice because of errant rocks... |
I recommend buying 3M protective film and cutting it to fit, then putting it on the lights after cleaning them. It's saved my lights several times. My brother and I got these for his Volvo's Euro lights and mine:

On my Volvo I switch headlights every winter since we gravel the roads rather than salting. I added a second pair of retainers to that car to make life easier. I could have done the same to the Mercedes. The 6 wire headlight plug for the euros is very common to find in a junkyard car, and they don't exactly wear out. We wired the citylights and the standard US running light up together. Worked out better that way I think. |

Looks good! I need to getlonger screws as suggested and move 2 screw clips to the set of holes closer to the radiator and that should do it for mounting. The Euros did come with the 6 pin plugs w. wires. I am gonna splice the 6 pins and leave the 4 pin plugs in so that I can go back to the US lights if I have to. I'll get that protective film also. Thanks for the help! |
