Cheap Euro Headlights
I took a chance on an ebay store "5 Days Only" sale. I paid 182.00
for a set of Euro lights and clear side markers. My headlight doors were not that great and 3 of the stock lights had cracks. I never go anywhere at night for the most part, so I thought if these lights look good, that's just fine. The seller shipped really fast. The quailty is typical Chinese knock-off. They fit quite well thought. All I had to do was move the screw clip to the "euro" hole and they bolted right in. Even the plug from the old yellow side lights screws in to the new ones, although the come with, I guess "euro" plugs that do not fit my US molex. The interior headlight wiring and socket is typical knock off quality. I'm going to see if anything socket/wiring wise will transfer over from my US stuff. They just arrived and I threw them on to see if they fit/looked good, and they do! The headlight lenses are glass even. I'm pleased. If I really needed quality lighting at night, I would have gone another route. These may even be satisfactory for me, but if I did a lot of fast driving at night I would have searched out OEM Euro stuff. Tomorrow I'll remove them, go get bulbs, take some pics and post. At this point for under 200 bucks, they seem to be a deal. Not a great deal, but good for me.

looks alright, the cheap connections would probably prevent me from purchasing. Let us know how they look when you get the bulbs for them.

They look awesome Michael. So what are your thoughts on blacking out the grill and fins inside the headlights? IMO that would be the final touch.

Looks good!
Although my personal preference is for the 4-eye appearance of the stock 123 look, I must say those look good, especially considering the price. I put Euro headlights on my W124 car but paid much more since they were genuine Hella lights.
Caution with the electrical connectors is advised but you sound like you know your way around the wiring. I would be especially leery of higher than standard wattage bulbs. Consider buying some X-Pel plastic protective film for the glass. You don't want to catch a rock on the freeway and only then discover that you can't get spare parts. The material alone is not expensive and you can install it yourself (only expensive if you pay someone to do it for you). Jeremy

I just got mine from Gummysource too. And, my thoughts are the same. Lights are called Lucid, but I was wondering if they were Depot's, since the clear corners were Depots. Now, what am I going to do with the clear corners, since I already had them.
Just read your other post.. I should start from the bottom, not the top. |

That was the vendor. I'm going to use as much of the old wiring and sockets that I can, and improve things I see as marginal. Like I stated
in the previous post, if I needed quality night vision I would have taken a different path. I rarely drive at night. If I do it's in town. If go out of town, I take the Sunday car. That is set up for high speed events, heh dark or light. In all with a bit of tweaking I can make these lights work fine. I will use the suggested "film" to protect them as I'm sure there are no spare parts. If I hadn't mentioned before the lights Have No Bulbs so that is an added cost. I just missed a real set of Bosch lights that I'm sure I could have sniped on ebay. Sold for the same price without the side lights of course.

Anything you may find from the Bosch Euro counterparts will fit perfectly on your Lucids. They are completely interchangable. Some of the Hella parts will fit as well, but not all. In any case, your new headlamps look great!

Those look very nice. I noticed the only 126 Euros they have are for SEs and SELs, no SECs. I have a genuine passenger side Euro headlight. I just need the driver's side now.

Pretty cheap indeed
I went out to get amber bulbs for the clear side markers, H4 for the mains,
H3 for the fogs. I was able to easily find the first two, but yellow H3 bulbs were nowhere to be found off the shelf. I have the amber turnsignals and running lights going, looks cool, and the mains. The connections were so poor inside the lights that I ripped apart an old set of Jag lights and used the parts to make a better setup. Soldered the ground wires, etc. Had to switch around my stock Molex plug and grind a channel in it to use it. It all works pretty good. If this was the only car I had though, and I drove a lot at night, I'd hold out for the Bosch units. On to the foglights. I purchased a set of PIAA H3 Ion Crystal bulbs for the fogs. Had to order them. At 46 bucks the weren't cheap, but I'll likely never wear them out. Got the very slow vacuum leak fixed. Ordered a kit of the most likely culprits to leak. Didn't hunt it down, just threw some parts at it,heh. This little project is coming to a close. Like finishing a really good book, I'm kinda sad that it's over. Everything works as it should, and all "consumables" fluids belts etc. have been renewed. I always love that energetic rush of a new project. Just like anything though that subsides over time. After that you sigh, "eh I gotta go work on the car". Some things although, not at the same intensity, are worthy of attention and you stay with them. I think this TD is one of them. After a time, I'm sure I won't rush home from work excited to change the oil, but I will still do it. I wanted a beater, and got a burden, but a good burden, you guys get what I mean?

Mine are Depot also. I got the W123 tail light sockets at PNP and they were an exact plug in to the Depot 6 pins.
