Anyone familiar with this keyless system? They have specific Mercedes applications and model specific instructions.

Thats nowhere near worth $200. If you only want keyless and not an alarm, installation is extremely simple as long as your vacuum system works. Just attach an actuator in your drivers door, theres room under steering wheel/above the pedals for the control box.

Yes keyless entry is all i want. Those swtich blade key remotes are cool and based on the price of the VW's, themselves are worth 1/2 the cost of the system for 2 of them. My vac system and window/sunroof closing feature all work fine.

If you really want the remotes, go for it, but if its mainly keyless, any system will work, just buy an actuator, attach it to the locking mechanism in the drivers door, and tap a power source somewhere for it. Is the '91 still a W123? I have the wiring diagram if you need it. Search for my thread on the install of my FM-870, its a way more complex system (like 50 wires to connect...) took me 1 day to get the basic remote start and keyless working, and I did all the other alarm functionality wiring slowly over the next few weeks.

No, it's a 124. I've seen other systems to cheaper.

DOes your starter light the glow plugs also? I've heard they have tem now that do.

We had a remote start on a cherokee, worked great for about 5 years, then malfunctioned pain getting it home.

We usually drive our vehicles into the ground, I told my wife no more auto starts after that first issue. Her van came with one, lucky her. I never let her get one on her last TDI since we bought it new. SHe's not getting one on her new TDI either.
