I rely on a MB's engineer's, high quality oil, and FSS on my 99. Based on my driving habits (lots of highway) it has let me go farther than you every oil change during the past 140k miles.

Engines and oil's improve daily; the mindset of 3k oil changes is a thing of the past unless one is using, and driving, a dino.

Continue to feed yours a quality oil, monitor coolant temps and eliminate short trips where the engine doesn't get up to operating temp wherever possible and you'll be fine.

Did the lab give you any recommendations? I have only had one oil analysis done, and was on my jeep cj7. I used Blackstone Labratories and they did a very detailed report on all their findings and wrote recommendations on oil/filter change schedules based on the lab results.

Those results are almost exactly double mine after 6456 miles on Mobil1 5W40. I did mine at Blackstone and they said check back at 10k. I'm at about 8k now and I think I'm going to change it soon because running 10k just makes me nervous
