84 wagon seat removal

Well from all that I have read on here, I should be able to remove the drivers seat by pulling the seat forward all the way, removing those two bolts, and the opposite to remove the front two bolts. I also read that somehow if you pull on both handles and have someone push from the back of the seat it will come up, Ive tried both and cannot access either back bolts for the front seat.

Honestly I feel a bit ridiculous asking for help with a seat but I humbly come before you all, asking for help because I am clueless here and absolutely need to get the seat out.

thanks for your generousity in helping:D

No silly questions. I struggled with mine the first time I tried to pull them. There are two levers on these seats. The one on the front of the seats moves the seat front and back, and the one on the side adjusts the seat height. To access the front bolts move the seat all the way back. You will find the bolts in the front of the tracks. The rear bolts are accessed by moving the seat all the way forward and all the way up in height. If you pull the side handle up and try to pull the seat forward it should move up. If you can't make it move up. Try spraying some lubricant into the height tracks. The tracks one these seats tend to get gunked up and will make the seat hard to adjust.

I think that might be my issue, that the side handle is not currently doing anything, I will try spraying things down in there and seeing what happens, thanks for the ideas

I have found that often the only way to get the side handle to work is to have someone release the handle while someone else pushes the seat forward (up) from the back seat. It can take a fair amount of effort if the seat has not be exercised in a while.

I am a bit confused in terminology, does the side handle allow the bottom of the seat rise towards the roof of the car, or does it allow the seat to move forward even further forward towards the steering wheel????

It goes up by going forward and down by going backwards. The forward and back motion is less than the motion provided by the lever under the front.
