Bowden cable replacement procedure
 

What is the conection of the cable to the transmission like. Is it a diffucult replacement

not too hard, look on the service disc or sit under the car and figure it out

I don't believe the MB service CD-FSM covers any trans related stuff.

How does the bowden cable detach from the trans? Does it unscrew? Or is it just stuck in there?

It should unscrew. You are right the service disc doesnt cover any of the transmission. I have the orginal books and alldata to go by :)

use flat blade take off the ball the cable at valve cover and pull up the trans cable on the right side of trans you wiil find a hook, your new cable push it inside and tape the valve cover end it to hold from coming out,take the trans end and use finger inside trans to pull up hook and hook up to the new cable and to valve cover slot snap the ball and adjustment done, or take it to a trans shop

I just looked at the pictures and it looks like it just clips/pops into the hole, but it has a seal......we forgot to disconnect the cable from the motor when we separated them and yanked on it briefly....but it still works but started leaking from it. I bet we messed up the seal or (hopefully not) damaged the base of the cable....I guess we'll find out. The shop that replaced all the seals should have put a new one on it.....I guess we'll know if it drools fluid from the cable connection.... :D :D

you got to pull really really hard to get it out of the transmission.

Hows does a transmission part connect to an oil pressure guage again? I did not know MB had a bowden cable for the engine oil pressure. W123 uses a mechanical guage that has an oil line attached to it while the w126 uses an electrical pressure sending unit.

I could be wrong...

We must be talking about 2 things then
