all 123 tanks interchangible?
I need to change out my fuel lines as they are all seeping. I am thinking now might be a pretty good time to put in a larger turbo fuel tank.
Are they a straight interchange? Tom W |
I don't see why they wouldn't all interchange...
|
As long as it's not from a td :)
|
yeah, the TD (wagon) has a flat tank under the bed of the car... it will NOT fit in a sedan.
|
I'm sure a sedan tank could be made to fit the wagon and the wagon tank could replace the spare tire hole, but not without a lot of work. :D

So has anybody actually tried upgrading a 240 to the larger tank?
I am reluctant to tell my indie to just do it without verification that it will actually work for sure. Tom W |
It seems to me like I have read about this being done, but I really can't remember where I saw it. Might have been on the MBCA forums. As I recall, to do a proper job, you need the corresponding tank, sending unit, and gauge as a set.
I bet Jim down there in Southern Indiana could tell you for sure if the tank will fit. |
Good thought.

the 123 chassis is the same whether its a gas job, or diesel or turbo. Wagon has the filler neck in the wrong place and its no easy task to change it. I'm sure any tank designed for the 123 sedan will fit with no mods needed. One thing bout Benz.. they are very interchangeable on the same platforms.
