Opinions on the 190D
There is a 190D for sale local to me for $800, ridiculously low from what I can tell.
What can be said about these vehicles? How dependable is the 602 platform? Power, economy, etc? If someone else wants it; have at it. It's in Homestead, FL. But for such a low price I almost can't say no.

The 190D is great unless it has rust or you expect somebody bigger than a 10 year old to sit in the back seat.
The 602 can be just as reliable as the 617 and it does not have the head cracking problem of the 603. |

The early 602 head and gasket were updated due to the same problems as the early 603, check the FSM. My '87 190D turbo got a head replacement.
The 602 is a great engine, car is fun and resonably reliable considering the age, inside space being my only complaint.
