Wow ... now you just need a 540K and you have the perfect stable.

Nice pics.

Nice stable of vintage mercedes. Pictures remind me of the hot, windy Kansas summers. Wichita is great but the lack of trees (except for College Hill) always bothered me.

Lookin good Tyler!

But it makes me wonder where that X5 is? Did you ever resxue it from the shop?

With your new wagon, you can ditch the Bimmer...The wagon is every bit as functional and tough a that SUV!!

That is as impressive a 3 car stable as you will run across. Very nice Tyler!
And uh, wagons are nice and all, but down right archaic compared to a nice X5. I'm just sayin'...........

Oh crap, the X5. Where did I put that thing.... Oh yeah, The climate control decided to go on the fritz.

I'm actually going to pick it up tomorrow. It will be the first time I've driven it in a month. Where the hell am I going to put it?

I should sell the Beamer, but you can't even give away a sub-15MPG SUV that requires premium gas right now. The great AC will come in handy for the next 3 days, which are expected to reach 100++, and it really does amazing work in the winter. Heated seats, idiot proof AWD, and no guilt of rusting the thing out... at least anytime soon.

She has 74k on the Odometer, and is getting about as much use as the convertible right now. If next winter is anything like the last, I won't be able to get any of the old farts out very much. Slushy, salty roads are really depressing.

You know, Tyler, I really like the look of that SL --- there's one advertised locally; it's just not pratical for me.

Probably not. If I remember correctly, you're a bit taller than my 6 foot 2 inches. That combined with your recent milestone birthday and I imagine it would be pretty uncomfortable.

Well, if you find a couple of idiots, uh, like say me and the wife then you can sell that thing. We just bought an '06 Infiniti FX35, but at least we don't have AWD. The wife has been in minivans for 10 years, so it was time. She took a part time job just to pay for the thing, so I can't complain. Man, talk about fast!!

Actually, Tyler, I am 6' 2" --- I might have looked taller to you because of all the hair I have and my golf cap. I guess we didn't have any golf fanatics at the GTG because asked me about the Buick Golf cap I have......with Tiger's "signature" inside.

Milestone birthday? That's nothing. I have a 4 year old and anyone who has small children will tell you they help keep you young.

If an SL doesn't have proper head room, THAT would be an issue --- I hate it when I have to open the sunroof for my hair not to brush up against the headliner. The 300D that was my wife's (NOT!!!) just barely had enough clearance. Of course, I bumped my head twice just yesterday on the front grille of a 1970 280 4.5 in the junkyard.

Jimmie, I think when that suv (or is it CUV) first came out, one of the reviewers described it as a "scalded cheeta" based on its looks and power. That is a unique vehicle. Falls in line with your tastes in Mercedes if you ask me.

Not to get off on a tangent, but the handling of that thing is ridiculous!! In a good way! I can't imagine the power in the FX45, the V8 version.
This one has the sports package, which means it handles like a Porsche but rides like a dumptruck.
And best thing of all since it's getting up to 107 again today, the AC will freeze you out of the vehicle......

Back to the regularly scheduled programming, Tyler's cool new wagon.......

Picked up the X5 this morning. Holy crap! I forgot how good new car AC can be. The resistor on the blower motor was acting up, and the compressor was low on the juice.

I was up until 3:00 this morning slaving away at Norm with Mother's Clay Bar, and I'm going to pick up the seats shortly. Brace yourself for some after pictures.
