AC oil? AC 134?

Easy questions I hope. How much PAG oil and how much R134? I'm replacing the compressor and filter drier with a Napa (Made in China model drier) as the Napa warantee was 2 years on the compressor. I had to buy a new drier with a current receipt. My original Mercedes drier (still in the box) was not good enough with a 12 year old receipt. Just *****ing here. Back to the real question How much oil and where, how much 134 and I know where ;)?

From what I understand it takes less 134 than R 12. Two cans worked good in my 240, I'd just like the 300D to work better.:D

How Much

I would ask VSTECH for advice on the quantities.

[Unsolicited: I'll tell you ,without a parallel flow condenser OR retrofitting back
to R-12 you ain't gonna be impressed with the vent temps.)

My 1134A equipped SDL blows 43*F air when moving with the resirc off. Plenty cold for me. Now at idle.... not so much, it goes up 58 or so :/

... if you want the 300D to work better than the 240 that has 134 in it, put 12 back in.
if not 12, NAPA stocks freeze 12, which is a blend of 134 and something else to give close to 12 performance.
did you totally flush the lines, AND the condenser, AND the evaporator? with a/c flush kit?
www.dieselgiant.com has a great pictorial on this.
I would start there. oh, and a 12 year old filter/drier would be junk anyway... they don't keep long.
you should replace the expansion valve while you have it open as well. it's all explained in the diy on DG's page.
ebay and craigslist are great sources for R$12, I got my last 30LB jug for free!!! (well, I serviced the guy's Home A/C in trade for it. not a bad deal, 1.5 hours "inspecting" his system, and a pound or two of R22 and he was thrilled! and I walked away with a 34Lb jug of 12!
