Valve body information needed

Anyone know where I can find a valve body exploded view/breakdown for my 722.303 trans?(81 300SD)
I can find them for the 722.4 but none on the 722.3

I had my valve body apart a couple months ago and must have gotten something back wrong cause it doesn't work right now. I currently have the valve body from my gas donor trans in there but it isn't right. I have a bad 2-3 flare and messing with the vacuum modulator has no effect on anything.

As I remember the 2-3 shift is the K-1 so check that. When you had it apart did you replace the K-1 spring set?
I am not sure if this is a picture of your tranny but it is close.

How exactly do you remove the tabs retaining the valves not under the plates?
The clips in the holes keeping valves #47 or #51, for example.

Problem is, it is currently running with a gas motor valve body in it. Its not right. I want to get the diesel valve body back in there, but I have mixed up something within it and it does not engage, like there is no fluid pressure.

The gas motor valve body has the 2-3 flare, the diesel valve body will not engage in any gear. There is a spring or valve out of place, It all looks right but it doesn't work right so I know something is amiss.

You have to split the two valve body halves to access the clips.

See if these help, they are from a manual that says it is for the 722.3 tranny so I think it covers yours. My scanner does not do the clearest job.

If you are going to split the valve body, do it in a deep tray, the check balls have a nasty habit of rolling away and use a digital camera to take pictures to aid in remembering where the little parts go.

Hey Phil, Where did you get those diagrams? I need a clearer or magnified photocopy of those for the valve body in my SDL. I have the same problem with placement and I'm getting no fluid pressure. -C
