W210 Xenon Lights
 

Hi,
Are the W210 original Xenon lights made of a glass lens.If I get the Xenon headlight assembly can I put it in a W210 with regular headlights.

My undestanding is you can plug and play the headlights into a non-xenon equipped car but you may get a warning about having a light out unless you have the dealer re-program the computer to tell it you have equipped it with the xenon units.

I don't know what the lenses are made of on the Xenon units but I would bet that they are not glass - probably the same plastic as the Halogen lights with different dispersion patterns in it is all.

What kind of bulb would I put in there and how much do they cost?

To get Xenon headlights you need to replace the entire light assembly, not just the bulbs. OEM ones are pretty costly...as I recall about $800 each.

I am going to replace the entire assembly with a new original Xenon assembly.The assembly does not include the bulbs.There are bulbs that have Xenon as high beam and ones that has Xenon as low beam.Which ones would I put into this assembly.

IIRC the back cover of your OM has that info.

These are not bi-xenon units. Those were not available until the W211. The high-beams stay with the H7 bulbs that the car currently uses.
