Check this cool electric British car out!
Check out this cool ELECTRIC car, but .....
every time I've posted anything about a technology other than the oil based piston engine car concept, all the naysayers have been there, in force. The most recent was my post about an air powered car already in production, made by Tata Motors. The car goes 125 miles, on what amounts to $2 worth of electricity to 'air up' the car on compressed air. The naysayers posted, ""Yeah, but it still costs $2 in electricity", and "yeah, but there's no place to air up the car", etc. I guess those people are always negative. Afterall, there was nowhere to fill up gas cars either when they came out. (The Tata motors car comes with its own compressor so you can air up at home, plus the compressed air tanks are designed to crack and release the air on impact so they don't explode in a crash). For me, I think it's a GREAT START to get away from oil, but I guess others just don't see it that way. Now, here's a really cool electric car, 186 mile range, on a 10 minute charge???? That IS a pretty awesome looking car! See, is it that hard to fit advanced technology into something that people might actual want to buy?
Call me old fashioned or the like, but one of the main reasons I dislike just about any new technology car is because I think they all look cheap and ridiculous...At least a civic hybrid looks like a civic Granted they are trying to go for "aerodynamics" or some other silly excuse, but I find it completely unnecessary. But that's just my opinion and don't get me started on it!

Does it use a DIESEL generator to charge it?
Charged in 10 minutes? Not possible. A cell phone can't even charge in 10 minutes, no way batteries that can support "electric equivalent of '700 horsepower+'" can either.

Does it feature Lucas components, and have that sweet positive grounding the British are so known for? I wouldn't want it otherwise.
Seriously though, it looks pretty sick. I would like to see more exploration of alternative ways to power transportation without using crude, no matter where it's from.

hub motors are definitely part of the future of electric cars. but why not the tesla? Its only $110,000...

And the Brits even learned to enjoy their beer warm thanks to Lucas Electronics. And now they want to sell a 700hp electric car that will charge up in 10 minutes. Man, you have got to be kidding. Sounds even worse then the "air car". I'm surprised they didn't say it was powered off the spare tire.

hmmmmmm 700 HP = 521,990 Watts and at 12 V that works out to a 443,499 AMP draw
even if they are using 48 V that is a 10,874 AMP draw either way that's a lot of amps!!!! I think I agree with that is just about impossible to make in a road going vehicle. I think there was some japanese company that used 8 80HP (640 HP total) wheel motors, but that car was the size of a small boat. unless they used 4 175 HP wheel motors I am going to stay in the show me state, Show me that this think is real and as powerful as you claim, otherwise I am not a believer. oh yeah and I would never buy one also.
