300D AC Job

Ok I'm ready, almost. I have the pricey parts in hand anyway. So the next step is to flush the system. Alcohol works just as well as any other spray can cleaner you can buy. The wife's stash is going fast so I'm out the door for more. I started by flushing the evaporator and I had this funny red/pink stuff come out. Don't look oily, don't look like rust. Floresent die maybe??

I'm off to Wally World for more alcohol for cleaning, maybe some whisky for me:)

Alcohol is hygroscopic (Attracts Water)

If you promise to route the temporary drain hoses you hook up to each component as you flush it AWAY from any painted surfaces...Brake Parts Cleaner works wonderfully (And leaves no residue).
Alcohol,However is hygroscopic (IT attracts Water),which is the last thing
you want in your A/C system!
Do not attempt to flush the compressor with anything other than the new
refrigerant oil you plan to use.
Do not open and "Hook Up" the New Receiver Dryer until EVERYTHING else
is done. You want as little time for the atmospheric moisture to penetrate
the Desiccant(moisture absorbing media) as possible.
