Records that came with the car indicate the clutch was changed at 193,000 miles. Currently up to 225k and no issues with the new clutch. I did have to put a slave cylinder in when I bought the car.

I have had a lot of them over 250K. Only one failure of one of the isolation springs in the disc. The others were changed as a precaution when the stuff was apart for other reasons.

Fully agreed on that, I had a 240D as an undergrad in college, it wasn't fast but it was reliable, excellent handling and lasted long till I sold it off. I agree about the tranny, it was quite light and smooth, specially after I changed the oil and put in M-1 ATF. Same goes for my 300TD and Gurkha with 5 speed, you can shift with your fingers. Btw, 220,000 miles on 300TD driven in US. 118000 miles on the Gurkha which has been driven in traffic, highway and some severe off road rallies and outings in India.
