smoke between filter and ip

hello again, continual smoke appears between oil filter housing and ip when the engine is running, smoke is almost invisable, manual shutoff valve doesn't work just chokes engine... Is a partial rebuild of my ip due?

that's an odd one. it could be fuel mist from a cracked injector line, or nut... it could be fuel evaporation from heat, or water vapor from heat. also tons of things could be leaking there... is the area clean? are there any visible leaks in this spot?

Random thoughts:
How about blowby comming from under the Valve Cover Gasket or a Crack in the Valve cover.
Maybe a Precombustion Chamber seal is going bad.
Is your Glow Plug Relay shutting off your Glow Plugs.

Which one of your cars is this happening to?

If you can easily pop off the lnkage right at the shutoff lever; pop it off and try push the shutoff lever by hand and see if it shuts off.

Dose the car in question have a Mechanical Governor or is it an Pneumatic Governor (you will have a Butterfly Valve in your Intake Manifold and a linkage going from the Intake Manifold down to the iP).

this is occuring in my 300sd. I just installed new nozzles (monarks, which work great) yestarday but this was happening prior to. The oil cooler line is leaking there which I plan to fix by Friday. Glow plugs function properly, and it even starts within five seconds without waiting compression baby! As I looked at my engine running today an odd thing happened I pushed the stop valve, and it stopped!! I don't know what this is all about but at some point I'm sure an epiphine will slap me into conciousness from a deep sleep, like that time I was hangin a clock in the bathroom, slipped from my footing on the toilet, bapped my dome, came to, and drew the flux capasitor...
