My 1984 300D stalls occaisionally, more often than not when the air conditioner is on as I live in an area that experiences daily highs of +/- 98 degrees. So lately I havent been using the a/c. But now, even with it off it tends to stall. It shakes, and rattles to a stop. I have noticed that there is a rattle from somewhere in the car when I go over bumps, which seems to be coming from the undercarriage or lower engine area. Im not sure if that may be related to the stalling problem. Engine temperature gauge tends to stay about 90 degrees, which seems normal to me.What could cause the stalling?????
Car is otherwise in excellent condition, over-maintained, with 120K low miles, 35mpg and going strong. Diesels are the only way to go.
