Charging System
Okay, replaced the regulator this morning. The charge out put is much better; no load it produces 13.8 to 14 volts at about 1000 rpm. With lights, a/c, defog etc it maintains about 13.2 at 1000 and drops to about 12.4 at idle.
It still has the delay after the gp relay cycles off before it will produce full output. I am thinking it is the gp relay is causing that even though it clearly cycles off. I don't think it has the afterglow relay but I don't know for sure either. Anyway it appears to be charging well enough to maintain the battery now. I sure hope so, this thing is wearing me out. Yellit I wish I was closer, I would love to see your operation. Know what you mean about the spills. A buddy of mine said I should just throw a couple gallons of oil on the floor right off and get it over with. Damned if he wasn't right!

Alt problems
Nice job.....Nothing beats persistence.....got to stay at it with this stuff...
I got tired of all the so-called automated relay features that always let me down and went with a full manual huge starter relay controlled by a momentary switch.....works much much better....nice knowing when you release the switch the relay is fully disconnected.....thanks for the updates.....!

yellit,
Dude you are way over my head with that one. Sounds cool though. I will be happy if it I can just keep the battery charged. Thanks for all the help to everyone. Darrell
