E300 Diesel Wrong transmission fluid?
I recently acquired another Mercedes a 1995 E300 diesel. I noticed the transmission was shifting rough when cold, so I decided to change the transmission fluid and filter since it looked dirty. I purchased some MB dealer transmission fluid #001-989-21-03-10 and used it in the car. My mistake of not researching, I wonder if this is the correct fluid to use in this particular transmission. It’s a 722.435 type tranny. I looked at the MB factory approved oil product sheet and can’t seem to find what the correct MB automatic transmission fluid to use. The transmission seems to shift fine, but only time will tell if this transmission fluid will create future problems. Has anyone else used this MB tranny fluid in there older cars? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated? Just wondering if I should change out the tranny fluid again?
Thanks, Adrian |

The 722.6 and .9's require MB specific trans fluids. Yours is more generic. Should be fine.
