'87 300D Turbo IP Timing
 

I got my 300D all back together. I put new rings in it. I got the cam in and timed and the tensioner in. How do I time the IP? I have the 124 CD Manual but it doesn't tell how to time the IP. Do I have to take it out? Also, I don't have the locking tool for it. I'd like to get this thing back together today. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have the Factory Manual CD I should me in the
Maintenance section -0760.1 if not check here:

You were right, it is in the maintenance section. I may have to pull the IP to time it right, because I think it is way out. I'm not sure how the splined tool that Mercedes sells works. What a nightmare car to work on. I put rings in it, since they were so carboned up it had no compression. My father in law and I have spent about seven 8 hr days and a 12 hour day on this car and it still is not back together again.
