gearbox crack

Hi folks,

Just gotten under my baby to inspect the under carriage and when looking at the gearbox I found this

What the worse it can hapen?

Thats the speedo cable I think. The worse part is you will not have a speedo and a odo. Maybe you could have it welded.

I'd epoxy it as a temporary/permanent fix.

Yes, clean off the metal and JB-Weld it.

In the worst case, you can swap the tailhousing from a parts transmission without removing the tranny from the car.

I didn't even do that...just tighten it more, it'll be fine.

it appears that only the outer 'ear' is broken (possibly from overtightening) The thru bolt is holding it in place, leave it alone, it will be fine.
