Exclamation car wont start but will trun over

just happened to day, i have read suggestions on here through the search but how do i trace the problem, i have a ford power stroke and understand how it works but how does a 82td 300 motor work, i guess what could cause this problem and what should i do to find it and poss fix it.

Check your glowplugs first, then make sure it is getting fuel.

what voltage is the glow plugs on this car and where are they located

It is behind the drivers side (US models) head light and on the lower fender well. There is a plastic cover on it that comes off to get at the wiring and fuse.
Another way to find it is to trace the Glow Plug wires from the Glow Plugs back to the Glow Plug Relay.
This is what mine looks like with the cover off:

The large connector on the Left goes to the Glow Plugs and if you disconnect it you will see they are numbered. The connector in the center has some of the wiring that goes to the ignition and the Glow Plug light. On the far right is the shiny metal 80amp fuse (sometimes it gets hairline cracks and will not conduct).

Check valve lash. .006" intake, .016" maybe .014" exhaust. I hear different things on this. With good battery & compression, you'll start w/o glo plugs. Dieselgiant has a valve adjust how-to.

If it is still on his car; up front by the Radiator top support is a sticker with the valve clearances on them.
