Hard Shifting from 1st to 2nd

My '82 300 TD wagon is shifting hard from 1st to 2nd gear. it feels like everything else is shifting nice and smooth. Does anybody know of anything I can adjust to remedy this hard shifting problem?

Just about everything is in this thread. Plus, the guys giving info in it are the ones to talk with:
It's CRITICAL... how you set your transmission's vacuum system on your diesel MBZ...

Check Vacuum Connections....

After replacing the shut-off unit on my 1987 300D Turbo, I took the car for a quick spin around the plan...really rough shifting.

I had knocked-off a vacuum line near the left front fender...put it back on...problem solved.

Check all of your vacuum lines for one that may have come off.

Hope this helps.

The Superior Shift Correction kit includes a replacement for the B1 accumulator control valve spring, and a spring to replace the B1 accumulator spring train.
